Portland papers, and some
others, are throwing all kinds
of fits over some tentative ques
tions sent out about some pro
posed constitutional changes by
the "lawgiver of Oregon City."
Nothing worth being scared
about. If you don't ask how
are you going to tind out what
public sentiment is? The circu
lar letters sent out with the
amendments suggested call for
criticism and correction. If you
don't like some of the high jinks
proposed just sit down and write
it out. If you do like them, or
any of them, say so likewise,
hike u large litter of kittens
some of them might be saved,
t while others could very well be
returned to oblivion.

We would arise to remark,
Mr. Chairman, that there are
seven thousand six hundred
forty one men in Oregon suffer
ing for a public office, many of
whom have no more hope for the
future than a cat would have if
precipitated into Sheol bereft of;
claws, unless through the As
sembly, or some other means,
the machine is again hitched
onto the Oregon voter.
COMING !
See here, Mr. Man, you haw
come out to Oregon looking for a
place to build a home. Slop off i
at Echo. The great advantages
of this section are climate, soil,
water and markets. None In't-j

section started anew with the
infusion of water, which in this
