Blind Musician Entertains The public was entortalued last evening on the street in front of Irwin's cigar store by D. Frezlse, a blind musician from California, who Is a prodigy in that urt. He Is a violinist of no mean ability and at the same time played on a crude stringed Instrument resembling a dulcimer, which he manipulated with both feet in perfect unison with his violin. Edwards re tained this morning from Forest Grove, where Rer. Edwards has been attending the Oregon conference of the Methodist Episcopal church. Klamath Falls Country Club Plans for organization of a coun try club on Klamath lake, having as members representative 'men from Sau Francisco. Oakland, Portland and other cities, as well as Klamath Falls, were revealed yesterday by C. W. Wood, Oakland and Fresno cap italist; W. H. Ingles, retired cap italist of San Francisco, and Paul Watson, owner and manager of the Shasta Springs hotel, who leave to day after a week's bunting at Eagle Ridge. The visitors are enthusiastic over the possibilities of such an or ganization and believe It will meet with great favor in the large cities. Klamath Falls Record. Aerial Squadron Passes The remainder of the men of the Ninety-first aerial squadron, about fifty men, passed through here on this morning's south-bound train en route from Camp Lewis and Eugene to Mather field. Sacramento. About twenty men of the squadron passed through here Monday in eight air planes and by train for Sacramento. Returns From California Mrs. E. D. Law suits centering around the con stitutionality of the farm loan act tied up the sale of bonds by tbe fed eration for more than a year, Mr. Harris said. Banks now are making efforts to sell the bonds to meet the demands of new applicants. Blchan and Ike Merriman left this morning by auto tor the northern part of the state to purchase a carload of dairy cows. ' This undertaking is being financed by the four banks of Medford and is but tbe beginning of a campaign to Increase tbe number of dairy "nerds In this locality. None but high-grade Jerseys will be included In the carload to be shipped In and they are being pur chased at Jefferson, near Salem. These will be from t to 4 years old and all will be fresh from between now and December 1. The Rogue Hiver Valley Ministerial association opened its fall work by meeting at the public library Mon day morning and resuming its ses sions, which were suspended for the summer months at Its last meeting iu Juua. Laymen interested In the work, us well as ministers, are en rolled In this association, which Is open to ull Christian denominations. The following new members were en rolled: Cash Wood, Y. M. C. Lawrence on "Mental Suggestion for Physical Healing." This Is a subject which the pastor of the Presbyterian church has recently introduced .in the mid-week services of his church, and is finding a grow ing Interest among his members. FORM Eli MEDFOIU) WOMAN TO OPEN KINDERGARTEN HERE President Harding recently said: "Because the kindergarten seems to me an effective means of providing early moral, social and intellectual training and promoting patriotism, I am hopeful that this educational advantage viuy presently be provided for ull children of the nation." These words have stimulated much recent legislation regarding kindergartens, patterning lurgely after the California system, the most effective in the country. Oregon would do well to soon bring this brunch of work into the public school system. The lack of kindergarten privi leges prompted one of our new resi dents, Mrs. S. E Willard. to conduct a kindergarten in Medford last year for the benefit of her own children. Now she is reudy to open a class lu Ashland next week with a thorough kindergarten equipment, including specially constructed chairs, work tables and sand table. Besides typ ical kindergarten work, there will be story telling, nature study und, later on, tho new "project" system.
