The newly married couple will make their home at 369 Gladys avenue. They were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Henry of Ashland. Mrs. Kelts is a former Y. M. C. A. worker in Montreal. Canada. C1UC IMPROVEMENT CUB HAS MEETING (By Mrs. John H. Dill, Cor. Sec.) The Civic Improvement club held a most enjoyable meeting in Pioneer hall Tuesday afternoon. Miss Grace Chamberlain, the president, presid ed. After a business session, MrB J. H. Fuller lead the members in i community sing drill. Mesdames II . E. McGce and W G, Curry were social hostesses and aerved delicious doughnuts and eoffee. The social hour was a par ticularly enjoyable one. Several guests .were present and much inter)- estlng discussion was given to the Southern Oregon District Federation of Women's Clubs which wag held In' our city on Saturday. In the wrlteup of the district meet ing the name of Mrs. H. P. Holinos was unintentionally omitted from the luncheon committee. Mrs Holmes donated and made In her big urn the delicious steaming coffee aerved. 40 CAMPERS COUNTED IN MTHIA PARK By JOHN H. FULLER (Secy. Chamber of Commerce) The Secretary of Chamber of Core merce counted 40 autos lu 1 he auto camping grounds last evening, some of whom had been there the entire week camping and - were loathe to leave at all. While strolling around Interview ing different campers; a jolly crowd of people drove Into the camp and we discovered that It was a party of teachers from Medford up for a picnic. Being uncertain as to where to spread their supper on account of the general wet conditions tlio sci retary suggested using the bano stand In Llthla Park and with the co operation of Superintendent Smith this place was made available for the party. It developed that the company were celebrating the announcement of the engagement of two of Med- ford's, teachers. Miss M. F. Fuller and Mr. L. A. Mentzer. Among the party of 28 or go were noted Mr Aubrey G. Smith and family, Mr Gmlth being superintendent of Med ford gchools, Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Thompson and Mr. Stewart, also a large number of the ladles of the Medford teaching force. Notwithstanding the Inconvenient weather the party were enjoying the occasion in a Jolly manner and great ly appreciated all the charms and beauties of Ashland park. MRS. FRANK. VETTER DIES LAST THURSDAY Mrs. Edith Adel Vetter, wife of Frank Vetter, died at her home, 1 1 SI Oak street, at 9:30 o'clock last night. Her death followed a protracted ill ness although Mrs. Vetter had not been critically 111 until Monday of this week. Mrs. Vetter was a for mer resident of Ohio and has been making her home in Ashland since 1918. The body was taken to the Stock undertaking parlors where the body .will be prepared for shipment to Ohio. Mrs. Vetter Is survived by her hus band, and son Frank Vetter, 14 years old, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Brannon of Bradford, O., and near relatives living in the east. Local and Personal Leave for Ranch ; Ralph Small, a member of the high school graduation class, will leave here Monday for his fathers ranch in Eastern Oregon accompanied by Ash land friends.- Leave for Oklahoma A. B. Kee, who has been visiting bis father-in-law, E. S. Willis of this city, left yesterday evening for Okla homa City on a business trip expect ed to last about a month. Mrs. Kee will remain here. Leave for Albany- Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Barrett and son, Julian, left last nleht for Albany to meet Edwin, a brother of Julian, at that city prepatory to leaving for a ranch near Albany. "Goofy" Arrested Bud Marsh, alias ' Goofy" was taken Into custody this morning at Talent, by chief of police Hatchef of this city. Klamath. Falls Visitor , Miss Mary Walker, of Klamath Falls, has been visiting her sister. Mlsg Alice Walker of this city, dur ing the past few days. She came to the city to attend the commencement exercises of the graduating oluss of the high school of which Mlsg Alice Walker Is a member. Convalescent Returns Home Leland De Carlo, who has beet suffering from a compound fracture of the right leg during the past six weeks hag so far recovered as to be able to return to his home at Plne hurst on the Klamath Falls highway Local Man Dies- Word wag recelvel here by wire yesterday from Santa Monica, Calif., of the death of Charleg Veight, at old time Ashland resident. Then are no details of his death as yet. Mr. Veight visited Ashland alx weeks ago and seemed to be in good health at that time. Information wag received here late today that the body will be cremated at Santa Monica. -Mr. Veight was well known here and his ashes may be returned to -this city for, burial.
