Ashland, when a large number of

ered for that purpose at the Lyric
theatre. Hon. E. V. Carter serv
ed as temporary chairman, and
J shortly after calling the meeting
; to order nemed a nominating com-
imlltee to place before the assem
blage a corps of officers.
While this committee was de-
! liberating Mr. Carter gave the key
note of the call of the evening and
' stated briefly the policies of the
republican party and the object
.of the club. The committee then
submitted the following officers,

Edith B. MacCracken; serretury-
' treasurer, V. V. .Mills.
