gion is planning a big event on Sun
day, February 22, Washington's
birthday. This is the date set apart
by the Legion all over the country
when the memorial certificates given
by the French government will be
presented to the next of kin ot men
who made tlio supreme sacrifice iu
the world war.
A number of Ashland young men
are sleeping "somewhere In Frunce,"
or died in the homo camps during
their mobilization. A grateful coun
try w ishes to honor these men wit Ii
a fitting memorial to be presented
to the immediate relatives who
helped In tho sacrifices by giving
ot .their best. These memorial cer
tificates will be presented to these
next of kin with fitting ceremonials
on this date.
An elehorato program fitting for
the occasion will take place here on
that date. If tho weather is favora
hlo this event will be held in the
Chautauqua building, and will be
one of the most Impressive cerefno
nies ever presented here.
