Something catches their particu

of the round table hadevideutly
made such an impression on him
that he could not realise that in
this day of subways and pert de
partment store clerks the chival
ry of old has long since bidden
its sad farewell. David Is as fan-
tastice as the dream* that pass
through his Imagination. He dons
-the illusory ooat of armor, and

wavers between a mother and a
daughter. The »Other i8 really
a bit too old for this sort of
thing, but David Imagines that he
is much older than he is, and per
haps the mother is a hit younger
than she really is. The daughter
is Just the mept for him, but
he blandly assumes she is much
too childish for him.
David muses and muses, pond-
etw and ponders. The author has
bandied bis characters cleverly.
David Is so deftly portrayed that
the reader Is not for an Instant
tempted to question the possibil
ity of there having been such a
parson.
