Briefly it is the relation of Ju- Lawrence, Rev. T. H. Tem ple, Rev. E. Iverson, and Rev. D. D. Randall, Medford and Rev. B. ft. McVicar, Jacksonville and Rev. J. E. Johnson, Central Point. WASHINGTON LETTER (Continued from Page Four) The Calles-Obregon faction had charged that Serrano and Gomez were financed by foreign oil com panies. Gomez has shown marked favoritism to the ell Interests during his Vera Cruz command, bgt Calles and Obregon were said to Tuvor Serrano In case it ap peared that Obregon can’t make the grade In the government at W ashing ton, there hag been one group which favored Obregon and an other which favored Gomez. Co rnee, incidentally, has hinted that be will lead a revolution if he is not elected. Latest advices are ‘hat Obregon Is definitely the out standing candidate. One reason Is the fact that Mexican elections arér’.'t like ours. Mexican politic ians may be no more crooked then our own, but their methods are cruder and the party In power at Mexico City Is likely To tleter- fbine the result. Obregon and Mórrów ought to get along veby well, principally because both of them presumably will be in a mood to compromise rather than to pursue courses of T tlcn wherefrom which both rlcjc’. would lpae. SOVOGReetAO K In attem pting to analyze our Mexican policy, past and present, it must be remembered that there are two great* classes of foreign investm ent in Mexico— the fin ancial and Industrial. Their in terests do not always run paral lel. First, there aro the owners of oil wells, mines, lumber and land. It is not necessarily to the ad vantage of these investors to operate in a strong, prosperous Mexico. — Socoud, there Is the sort of Interest in Mexico which Mor row represents. There is Mexico's public debt, som ething more than 1500,000,000, owed to foreign investors. - Then h er approxim ately $200,■ 000,000 in railroad bonds, per haps half of which are backed by the government. •Then that annual $15,000,000 interest payment which Morrow’s partner, Thomas W. Lamont, hatched and has since nurtured bo carefully. Then, finally, more than $150,» 000,000 in scrip which represents In terest’ on bonds which went unpaid from 1913 to, 1926, dur ing Mexico’s revolutionary and early reconstruction period. Everyone who is interested in these various sums presumably wants Mexico to be prosperous and her governm ent stable in order that she may pay. These facts and knowledge of Morrow’s past attitude lead one to believe that the now ambas sador’s attitude toward Mexico will be sym pathetic and conser vative. Morrow, whose Intimacy with President Coolidge is well known, has orten advised the president on the Mexican situa tion. Dr. d u b i t i JL M t t f e Physician and Bnrgtdo BE PRETTY!
