The Cunard liner Carmania and the Cunard anchor
liner “ Transylvania” swung northward from their
courses. “ Old Glory” is was estimated had flown between
700 and 900 miles eastward and slightly north from New­
foundland when the distress calls startled the radio
operators aboard the ships.
