Surprised—
Mrs. V. D. Miller was most
happily and completely surprised
last evening, Wednesday, August
31, when her husband delightful­
ly entertained a group of friends
with a dinner party at the Plaza
epnfectionery and cafe, the occa­
sion being in honor of h e r
birthday anniversary.
Six courses^were served at 6:30
o’clock at a table beautifully dec­
orated in a color scheme of pink
and white, with pink and white
dahlias forming the background.
Two huge pink and white cakes,

ers were attached, were placed

Covered-Dish Luncheon at

Tho Past Noble Grand * club
of thto city met last Friday, An*.
26, at the home of Mrs. L e a h
Caldwell on Laurel street, where
they held a covered-dish luncheon
at 12 o’clock noon. Husbands of
the members were guests at the
luncheon, eighteen persons being
seated at a table, perfectly ar­
ranged.
Fancy work and conversation
occupied the rest of the afternoon.

ford lodge, as well as those from

Castle Crags, famous North­
ern California resort has been
purchased by O. M. Selsby, C.
G. Van Hook and J. J. Crosby
of Medford for a consideration
of 280,000. The resort is well
known among Southern Oregon
people.
