The Golden Rule store, which
has been, closed for two weeks to
complete an Invoice In connection
with the sale of the local unit, as
well as the Medford and Yreka
units, to The J. C. Penny com­
pany, has reopened.
An announcement from New
York a few days ago contained
the Information that the J. C.
Penney company would officially
take over the three stores which
have been operated under the
name of The Golden Rule on July
15th.
Mr. Poremlller, a J. C.
Penney company representative
who came here from Albany, stat­
ed yesterday he did not have any
announcement to make at pres­
ent. Mr. and Mrs. Evans, who
have been in charge of the local
Golden Rule store, are no longer
connected with the management.
