The Lithlans state that this Is
going to be the “event” .socially,
of the season. They are staking
their reputations tor putting on a
live party on this affair, and Ash­
land people as well as all south­
ern Oregon should get a table res­
ervation at the earliest opportun­
ity-
Seven a o tto f vaudeville have
been scheduled. One of the main
attractions is the orchestra which
has been obtained for thia gath­
ering after a great deal of nego­
tiations, involving the sending of
a representative to Eugene, the
well-known Merrymac Orchestra
was obtained. This orchestra,
composed largely of accomplishel
collegians, will furnish the music,
as well as the putting on of many
novelty numbers, at which they
excel. There are nine pieces, and
the musicians are famed for their
jaxz and the pep that they put In­
to their numbers.
The Lithlans state that there
are tables for four, eight, ten,
twelve, fourteen and sixteen. Peo­
ple should get busy on the tele­
phone and make np their parties,
In order to fill an entire table.
No one will be permitted on the
floor unless they have a table res­
ervation.
The unique lighting effects, and
novelty dances planned will be
something never before Been in
Asbland.

crew superintendent.
Frequent slides during the
winter month which at time ham­
pered traffic over the highway,
makes the Improvement of the
highway imperative. Sufficient
funds were appropriated this year
to make the work possible, Mr.
Drummond said.
A crew of 36 men are em­
ployed In maintenance work this
spring qnder the direction of Mr.
Drummond.

Traffic over the highway Is
not heavy but continuous and In­
creases notlclbly each warm day,
Mr. Drummond states. The main­
tenance crew, who also act as
traffic officers, find there are
few violations of the traffic laws
through the Slsklyohs.
