Has Big Garage
So large Is the Dragon coming
from Hoag Kong to be a feature
of the Oriental Chinatown carni­
val Rose Festival week In Port­
land from June 13 to 18,1 that

Portland Chinese say It should be
called. The dragon w ill be more
than 200 feet long and It w ill re­
quire 100 Chinese to carry the

CITY DADS SATISFIED
City council men last night
had a splendid demonstration
of the sounding powers of the
recently purchased fire siren.
W hile the council was in
session the
siren
w as
soqnded, long and loud, an­
nouncing, as was planned,
the fire demonstration which
the visiting caravan staged at
the Lithfa Springs Hotel. *
So long and loud was the
siren’s call. It was necessary
to discontinue * the
council
session fe r a period of five
minutes u n til “things quieted
down.” Counoilmen are sat­
is fled w ith the noise maker.
Sign Erected

ing at the intersection; of Main

The sign was purchased from
M r. Good by M r. Stearns, owner

SCHOOL CONTRIBUTION
Medford and Phoenix schools
have contributed toward the Ore­
gon fund for the rehabilitation

Plans for the fifty -fifth an­
nual reunion ot the Oregon Pion­
eer Association are being made,
and a big attendance is expeteted.
The reunion this year Is to be
held at Portland, Thursday, June
23, at the public auditorium.
