New Hotel Management
The Lithia Springs hotel is functioning under
new management, and seems to be in capable hands,
with even- prospect of closest co-operation between
the management and tht? j»eople of Ashland.
While practically all erf the patronage of a hotel
naturally comes from visitors in cur city, it is well
that there should be a spirit of the deepest harmony
between the hotels and the city.
Since all of the Lithia Springs hotel company
stock is owned in Ashland, it is primarily to the in­
terest of tbe city to de everything possible to make
tbe hotel project a success. In addition to the selfish
interest, we should feel proud of our hotels, for there
it is that visitors live while in our city and there it
it is that they form to a certain extent.their opinion
of our city.

While, perhaps, |here have been more successful
years jn the history of the Ashland High School than
the year ef 1927, ww still have had our share of

team took second place in the Southern Oregon Coa-
ference with three wins, three losses and one tie

three wins and four defeats. In tennis we took first
in Southern Oregon standings and in baseball we
copped the conference championship.
In typing apd shorthand the team placed first in
the district meet. In debate the team took the dis­
trict championship, and later the state championship.
All signs point to a big year next season. In
football there will lie eleven lettermen back. In
basketball four lettermen return and in baseball
eight lettermen come back. The entire tennis tCain
will return to school also.
While none of the typing team will return, the
entire debate team will be back so a state champion­
ship in thia is highly possible. L et’s do things next

After long deliberation a California judge gives a
man a divorce on the grounds that.the seven kisses a
