LEPROHY (X B K D
LENINGRAD—(LP)—The leper
colony here has been put to work
n'the scientific belief that work
will cure leprosy. Three lepers
who have been members of the Is
olation colony for years have
made rapid progress under the
new treatment of hard physical
work and will soon be discharged
as cared, necordlng to reports ot
physicians in charge.
It Is believed that the perspira
tion ' of hard physical work rids
the body of many poisons. The
physicians continued the usual
medical, treatment for leprosy,
supplementing it with a program
of labor, but they gave chief cred
it for the improvement in the suf
ferers to the work they performed,
Leningrad academicians incline-to
the belief that physical work f t «
good cure for many ailments and
that It is better than the usual
rest program for cases of nelvous

COMMUNISTIC RELIEF CAUSE
OF CHINESE TO STRAJiGLB
The ' executions, which were
carried out In a manner unusu
ally cruel, even by the Chinese
who usually chop off the heads of
condemned prisoners, were held'
after a "secret trial,” announce
ment of which was made to the
public.
None of the Russian prisoners
were killed. Thirty Chinese pris
oners taken in the raid were left
for future sentence. Immediate
execution of his other prisoners
without a regular trial, is planned
by Chang, according to Chinese
lawyers retained to handle the de
fense of the accused Russians and
Chinese.
