Miss Dena Joy and Dick Joy were the speakers and as they are to debate thj^ representatives of the Eugene seflool on Friday night of thX week on the question “Re­ solved that Oregon Bhould adopt a Severance tag." they confined their discussion to the negative side and argued against such a plan. Members of the Chamber questioned the speakers at the conclusion of their remarks and Messrs E. V. Carter. I. E. Vining, J. C. Hopper and others contribut­ ed tó the discussion. Mr. Jack Spong of Salem, con­ tributed to the program with in­ teresting magician performances. Secretary Fuller announced that a very interesting series of speak­ ers had been secured for the next four weeks, among them being Gov. Patterson, G. C. Chapman of the Oregon Voter, H. 8. Sneyd, Y. M. C. A. secretary of Yokohoma. Japan, and others. Next Tuesday the program will be in charge of the Jackson county health unit and will be of great interest to many. Music week will be espec­ ially observed the first week in May and something out of the or­ dinary is in the planning for that week.
