just received the first solid trainload of multi-

If, as Secretary of Commerce Herbert Hoover
recently said, (urging improved fish hatcher
ies) the good old sport of fishing helps to de
velop character, Jackson County io a fine place
for youngsters. Here opportunities for fishing
which abound attract children, as well as their
elders, during the open season.
Unquestionably, the fisherman is a patient,
persistent soul, and if ho retains these char
acteristics while at study or at work, he can
not fail to meet a fair measure of success' in
every-day activities.
Patience and persistency bring many re
wards and he who finds through their practice
that he io accumulating a good surplus by reg
ular deposits in a savings account, consider*
that 'Compensation enough if, perchance, he is
& poor fisherman. .
