H a ile d a M iracle BERLIN, (UP) — A startling adventure, experienced by t h e famed Indian poet; Rabindranath Tagore, during hie recent visit to Bucharest, la going the rounds In the Rumanian press. • It was after Tagore had been received by King Ferdinand, by the social, artistic and literary luminaries of the Rumanian capi tal, that he himself appeared as host In the luxurious parlor of Bucharest’s first hotel, the Anth- enee Palace. Ladles of the Ru manian aristocracy had hastily cancelled their bridge and roulet te parties, purchased lavish bou quets for the oriental poet and employed every ruse of Nothing and cosmetics In order to impress their charms upon the distinguish ed Indian visitor. The parlor of the hotel was crowded with the flower of Ru manian aristocracy and beauty long before the poet himself ar rived on the scene. As he step ped Into the room he was show ered with blossoms, Impassioned requests for his autograph and ex travagant Balkan compliments. In their adulation of the In dian poet, many women approach ed him, curtsied and kissed ht» hand. Undaunted by this sealous tribute, Tagore began to address his guests. And even while the Ups of Bucharest’s fairest women were being pressed against^ his hands, he spoke to them of broth- erilness, love, goodness and etern al peace. Just aa the last lady stooped to kiss his hand, Tagore, In his mod ulated rythmle voice, declared. And Jherefore, my brothers and sisters, the blood of our fellow mortals should never stain our hands!" A cry of horror suddenly pierc ed the silence of this mystic se ance and a woman’s voice, was heard: "He’s wounded! The poet's hands are bleeding!” A score of sisterly handker chiefs were thrust forward to bind the poet’s wounds, to offer him The firm, moist torture of newly sliced Frye’s ’’ D e lic io u s ’* Brand H aqi is the best trttfite to its fresh» The popularity of Frye’s "Delicious’* Brand H a m grows with every pass ing day because it reaches your tabk in the shortest possible time after t leaving the great Frye curing houses / it’s at its best.— that’s Idle game im* Why its plies?’ Only 15c per Doz. 2 Lbs.
