account of the Ashland Choral
Society, an organisation of stng-
ere and m usic lovers, which has
not been settye for several H ers,
was turned over to the Ashland
Music Study Club, together With
the eMei* o f a eelieeHon -ef esw-
eic which the Choral Society pur­
chased aOtae years ago. The club
Is very appreciative of this gilt
and hopes to use the funds and
music to . tha beet advantage of
all interested to the matter.
In opening the program for
the evening two papers ware giv­
en which had been omitted from
the previous m eettagjof -Novato
her tweaty-otoeth. These were
“Opera in Colonial t Ambries,”
given by Mrs. L. 8 . Browp, ( and
“Rarly American Composers ", by
Mrs. A. J. McCallea. These ‘pa­
pers were greatly enjoyed.
The subject of “American Ne­
gro Music” was than presented.
