Party—
The young people of Ashland
were delightful entertained a | a
Hallowe'en progreestve party Sat­
urday evening, given by
the
yyung people representing the
societies of the Congregational,
Christian, Baptist, Presbyterian
nnd Methodist churches.
¿ach society met at its own
church and went In groups to the
Congregational church,
where
they were served delicious vege­
table soup and crackers, after
which they were entertained with
clever stunts, /T h e merry party
then went to ' t h e C h r is t ia n
church and were entertained with
a mock, wedding and were served
sandwtehes.

Baptist
church they had pumpkin pie
and were shown ghosts gad a
corpse. The Presbyterian church
came next. Here they were
served cider and were entertain­
ed w ith a play. The party ended
at the Methodist church; where
they were served with doughnuts
and were entertained w ith music.
This party, which was well at­
tended, was one of the most de-
lig h tfp lo f Its’bind that was given
Saturday evening.
Thursday afternoon the Ladies
Commodity Club met at the
school with about twenty ladles
in attendance.
Visitors were,
Mrs. M orris Jones of Talent; Mrs.
Coyle of Pasadena. Cal.; Mrs,
Geo. Bishop and M r * Robert HIU-
yer of Valley View.

over to Mrs! Davenhill, chairman
