A / Resolution Declaring the policy of the Mayor and Common Council hh regards the making of improvements to the wotep supply, and water system of the City of Ashland, in cifre the “ Water .Bond Amendment*’ is voted upon favorably at the November general election. / WHEREAS, f^|w;e.tlie year 1920 the problem of se­ curing a more a&quate supply of water for the City of Ashland has been continuously before the city adminis­ tration, and as a result a great deal of painstaking in­ vestigation has taf&h place,' and a fund of engineering data and information has lieen collected, and WHEREAS, from this store of data and upon the advice of competent engineers, the Mayor and Conneil have determined that in order to increase the domestic water supply of the City of Ashland, that the only pro­ ject within the financial reach of tho City is the con­ struction of a reservoir in Ashland Creek canyon, and WHEREAS, engineers are at present checking the data relative to the cost of reservoirs and dams at sev­ eral sites in said canyon, acting under instructions of the Mayor and Common Council to find a site upon which a reservoir can be hnilt with the greatest economy for the greatest amount of water conserved, and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Common Council de­ sire to make an expression of their intent in regard to the expenditure of the funds realized from the sale of said Water Bonds, if vqted, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUN­ CIL OF THE CITY OF ASHLAND, JACKSON COUN­ TY, OREGON. ‘ s S e c tio n 1., J * . Section 2. - That it be further expressed as the intent of the Council that every possible site in Ashland Creek Canyon shall have due consideration, as every member of the Council is a tax payer of the City and is just as anxious that the reservoir be economically and properly located as the rest of the citizenry of Ashland.
