Parent - Teacher Notes

the necessary drudgery of the
school, but if the home Interest
Is added to the Incentive we try
to supply, our task is cut in half.
Be ..interested in what your chil-
IreH are doing—REALLY inter
ested.
Not every parent, unfortunately,
is Intelligent enough to know
• hat there must he co-operation.
The Parent - Teacher Association
•?On help to spread the gospel. In
slur meeting that topic should
olten be dslcussed. So often an
angry mother calls at the school
ind with the children standing
by procoeds to tell us what she
thinks of us. That mother has
destroyed her children’s faith In
their teacher. From that time on
she is working against almost in
surmountable difficulties. Can’t
this organization help to create
a sentiment against such — well
— such stupidity?
Parents often criticise the work
Sf a teacher whose room they
have never visited. You can't fair
ly criticise what you haven't seen.
And you can't believe all that
children report — you ought to
hear what they tell us about you!
The Parent - Teacher Association
must encourage school visiting—
not en masse, on special occasions,
but everyday visiting — seeing a
session through.
x
Sorely this organization is not
meant to be a social one; meet
ing once a month to hear a song,
see a dance, drink a cup of coffee
and depart. There fhust be work
to do. The "‘Parent-Teacher As
sociation” must look around. If
there is no work to do there Is
no need of an organization. If
there is work, organize pnd do It.
Thera Is so much to do!
, You can give your school cleun,
healthful, moral surroundings.
Your parents can drive out what
la unclean and demoralising. Work
from School out to the city and
