power to the Rogue River Valley.
Ty|X‘ o f m odern to u ri/ts * cabins nt L ith ia P a rk campgrounds. Thia
and tlie cam pgrounds at Jackson H ot Springs, just n orth o f this
| city, offer th e Itest accommodations fo r th e tourists who w ant to.

This new spaper space is m ade possible through th e cooperation of those w hose nam es are m en tion
ed below. T here is a definite purpose back of th is m ethod of reaching th e tourist. .T h e photographs tell
but a portion o f th^ story. It is necessary for us to express in w ritten words th e idea that “tins is* the
cpuntry you cam e to find.” Y o u m a y have coine from the South, or th e N orth, as w ell as th e East. You
may be q u ite w ell satisfied w ith your present hom e as a place o f perm anent abode, but th e very fact
that you are touring and are reading these lin es in d icates that for th e tim e being, at least, you are in
search of som ething. It m ay be a place to picnic or a place to purchase; it m ay be a place to h u n t and
fish or a place to farm; it m ay be a place to reH x and rest or a place w here com m ercial opportunities w ill
give you a chance to get back in to the business w orld. W hatever you seek m ay be close at hand. This
newspaper space is to urge you to stop, to lo o k and to learn.
T here is one nice thing about this m atter of com m u n ity d evelop m en t work, the m ore you share
w ith your fellow m en the m ore you have for yourself. A lm ost every com m unity through w hich you
pass is m aking som e kind of an appeal for you to stop and-investigate. T h ey are all sincere, but th ey
m ay not all have their appeal for you.
W e h ope that this great valley w ill som ew here, in som e Way, strik e your fancy. T ake a little tim e
to investigate, ask som eone connected w ith any of th e undersigned organizations or call at th e Cham
ber o f Commerce. Y ou w ill not be bothered, you m ay be helped. W e w ould lik e to share our pleasures
and our prosperity w ith you. •
