club will hold a picnic in Lithia
park tomorrow evening for mem­
bers and their families. Those
attending are asked to be there
as near six o'clock as pqssilife.
Each family is asked to bring ft
well-filled basket of food as well
as their own dishes and silver.
The club will furnish coffee, su­
gar and cream.
Later in the evening all will ad­
journ to the club house where
cards and dancing will be en­
joyed.
Th.s affair Is in charge of the
social committee, comprised of
Mrs. Sylvan Provost and Mrs.
Walter Maxey, and as It is the
last social affair before election it
is hoped all members and their
families will show their apprecia­
tion of the service of the retiring
officers and committees by at­

the chamber offices to­
day. With an estimated
budget of approximately
$7000, it is thought that
the drive can lie complet­
ed before the end of the
week, with more than the
required amount pledged
by the people of Ashland.
The membership drive
will start Tuesday and
will result in bringing
many new active members
into the chninber, is the
belief of H. L. Clnyeomb,
chairman of the member­
ship committee, who is In
charge of the drive.

BERLIN, May 12.— Chancellor
Hana Luther, bead of the Germ­
an cabinet, resigned today after
the reichstag had voted lack of
confidence In his administration.
President Von Hlndenherg accept­
ed the resignation.
The fall of the Luther gover-
ment came as another climax of
a startling day. During the night
police announced an alleged plot
to overthrow the government
had been uncovered.

emergency strength.
