FAIRBANKS, Alaska, April 26.
— (UP)— Bent on locating Cap
tain George H. Wilkins and Pilot
Ben Eielson, the' monoplane De
troiter of the Wilkins arctic ex
pedition was scheduled to take off
here today.
Captain Wilkins and his pilot
have been missing for 11 days on
a flyjng trip from here to Point
Barrow which should have taken
them but a few hours. Not a trace
of them has been found since they
left here with a supply of provls
lous, and the general belief pre
vails that the plane was damaged
enroute nnd the fliers were com
pelled to make a forced landing In
some remote place.
The monoplane Detroiter plans
to cruise about the frozen area be
tween here and Point Barrow In
the hope of finding some trace
of the missing expedition leader.
