work has been completed,

and the work is pro­
gressing rapidly in every
particular.

way it is understood the

ing.
More than 100 delegates at­
tended the convention, which
contrary to indications yesterday,
was a very tame affair with
only a few Inconsequential depar­
tures from the regular order of
business. Counting the members
of the state executive committee
and other accredited representa­
tives there were 132 present
a t the meeting.

years of service which he hae en­
joyed to the fullest extent, and
upon which he looks back with
no regreta, he told members to­
day noon at the forum lun­
cheon at the L lth la Springs hotel.
M r. Briscoe said It was with
much satisfaction that he could
recount the re-establlshment or
the Southern OPegon normal
school 'and the building of the
L lth la Springs hotel as two im ­
portant and worthwhile projects
which have been completed dur­
ing the past two years.
Both
of these projects, however, came
as a result of a splendid spirit ot
cooperation on the part of resi­
dents of the city in general.

ment of Ashland and the cham­
