first constitution of Missouri—
part of It written on feminine
pink note paper, has been pre­
sented to the Missouri Historical
Society here.
The official records of the
first constitutional convention,
held from June 12 to July 19.
1829, were deposited with the
society by the grandchildren of
William Grymes Pettus, secre­
tary to the convention. The ses­
sions were held In the old Man­
sion House In a salts of rooms
