drawing a vote which It expected
to exceed the million mark, it
was indicated today.
I t could
go to several million« If the vot­

Figures compiled today from
2u cities showed a vote of
267,409 for either modification
of present liquor laws or a gen­
eral repeal of the federal laws.
The vote against any change
was 27,230, or a ratio of ap-'
proxlraately 9 to 1 for soma
change.
The heaviest dry vote reported
thus fa r Is at Tampa, Fla.,
where the ratio in favor of the
wets la only 2 to 1.
I t w ill be several days before
all votes are received and tubu­
lated at headquarters here.

Beach street, which Is compara­
tively level, and on Vista avenue,
which has a steep grade.
