MITCHELL FADING OUT
Eastern newspapers are pointing the finger of scorn
or derision a | Colonel Mitchell, because he id asking stiff
prices for bis public lectures on the American aircraft
situation, and yt reported to be refusing to speak unless
he gets the money laid down on thecounter.
We ought not to blame Mitchell for asking that his
lectures be recognized as of monetary value. Fer it takes
money for him to give them. It would be easily possible
for a club in Oklahoma to ask him to happen in to dinner^
from New York, and genially forget about the railroad
fare and the hotel bills unless Mitchell had a business
manager. One cannot be a nationwide influence without
expense money.
What Mitchell should have thought of was whether,
