controversy Involving the Cali­
fornia Oregon Power company
and the KlanAth Irrigation dis­
trict was taken here yesterday
when Congressman Slnnott of
Eastern Oregon introduced n
bill in the house to secure Ju­
dicial adjutlcation of the squab­
ble.
Under the terms of Sinnott’s
bill the courts would be called
upon to determine tbe validity
of the power company contract
of 1917 In which it procured
water rights on Klamath Lake
and Link river.
The measure wonld also auth­
orise the court to test the ques­
tion of the validity of the sale
of the Keno and Ankeny canals
to the power company.-!
Under the terms of the mea­
sure, the Klamath Irrigation
district would be authorised to
start ault either to the United
States district co’urt or the court
ot claims.

here among the older residents,
died last Saturday at Minneapolis
at the age of S3 years, accord­
ing to word received by friends
in this city. Death was due to
heart failure. Mr. and Mrs. Cor-
saut had lived to this city for
several years.

Ashland Quint Expects to Avenge
Defeat at Medford
Last Night
Not in the least disheartened
over their defeat at Medford last
night, the Ashland high school
basketball squad is all set for
the return game in the local ar­
mory tonight, and it is expected
the largest crowd which ever
attended a game In this city
will be out to cheer them on
to victory.
Medford high school won, 22
to 19, in a fast and fiercely
contested game on the Medford
floor. The game was in doubt
from start to finish and the
teams appeared throughout to
be on equal terms.
The first half closed with tho
score tied at 11 to 11. Toward
the close of the final half Med­
ford forged to the front and
then played a desperate defen­
sive game which kept the local
boys from evening up the score.
A large crowd of Ashland stu­
dents and fans went to Medford
for last night’s game, and a big
crowd swarmed the Medford ar­
mory. Music was furnished by
the Medford high school band.

night's game have been sold Out
