today issued a statement in which
he declared that the Peteet fam ­
ily of four who were alleged to
have been outraged a t Tla Juana,
hpd been arrested for intoxication

suicide.
" I t is to be deplored that the

Peteet affair,” he declared. "Our
Investigation disclosed not only
evidence against the guilty ones,

the finest institutions of Its kind
in the northwest.

hope
and
prophecy expressed at the cham­
ber of commerce luncheon In the
Llthla Springs hotel today noon
by J. A. Churchill, president of
the normal school.
In a short talk Mr. Churchill
outlined th e - work of the new
school and told of his aspira­
tions of making It an Institution
of which Ashland and the en­
tire state would be justly proud.

350 pupils taking thia work in
