ASHLAND, OREGON, TUESDAY,. DECEMBER .30, 1924 GOVERNMENT TO PAVE CRAT ot the mountain and a tunnel under the rim of the divide i.t the head of one of the branches of Ashland Creek forms the only leasable means of augmenting the water supply to be obtained from Ashland Canyon, according to a re port made 4>y Engineer Stuart McKissick, who has been at work on a water survey in the canvon for the past several months. According to the report, which was read at a joint meeting ot the old and new councils last night, the water from the tributaries of Cow Creek could be obtained bv the construction of approximately 11V2 miles of pipe line and the construction of a tunnel, 3800 feet in length. Ac cording to McKissick, this work would practically double the supply now obtainable from Ashland Creek. ears N ew s W ire S erv ice! —a. ...... ! - I n a E D je ie m x r i H ow ard C arter, co-discoverer with the Earl of C arnarvon of the tom b of King T ut Ankh-Anjen in th e Valley of the Kings, Egypt is planning to reo p e n the tomb and tak e out the rem ainder of its treasu res.
