P ercy Stratton w as fatally
injured, and his «rife suffer*
fered a broken arm , a brok­
en leg, several broken ribs,
anil possible internal injuries
about, tw o o ’clock yesterday
w hen another ear attem pted
to pass th e Stratton m achine,
locked w h eels with it, and
threw it over a 75 foot em ­
bankm ent. The nam e o f the
driver of th e other m achine
is not know n, but, he is un­
d er arrest at R edding, and
w ill be returned to Shasta
county for the coroner's in­
quest, which w ill be held
today.
S tratton's tw o ch il­
dren w ere bruised, but not
seriously hurt. Stratton su f­
fered a fractured sk u ll and
died an hour after th e acci­
dent.
