These a re the affairs of georgette, lace,
chiffon or crepe de chine and o ther
light fabrics th a t have a gay sum m er
mind and ta k e unfailing steam b eat—
or Southern clim ates—fo r granted.
B reak fast coats of taffeta or satin
resem ble these airy negligees, but dre
m ore practical. One of these is shown
in th e picture. They a re ju st as color­
ful, but have no tra ilin g ends of d ra ­
pery. Gay, soft colors in changeable
weaves a re popular and th eir trim m ing
is usually m ade of self m aterial, used
In frills, plaitings o r ruffles, w ith plcot
edges, put on in fanciful ways. Some­
tim es narrow laces a re used and occa-
ilonally lace is posed over ruffles on
the silk.
