Pail W ith F lo at P revents Calf
D rin k in g Too F ast
Fast drinking is a habit which care
ful stock raisers are anxious to correct
in young calves, for if allowed to con
tinue, it is likely to cause digestive
disorders that affect the animal in
after life. An effectual check against
this is believed to have been found in
a simple metal float that fits into a
straight-sided pail in which it slowly
drops as the calf feeds. A hole inThe
center of the float, the upper surface
of which forms an inverted cone, regu
lates the flow of milk, and prevents its
being drunk too fast.
