This is alotogether unfortunate. John Carkin is bet ter qualified than any other candidate for the state legis lature. He served a former term, most creditably. He is level headed, public spirited, efficient and industrious. It would be a genuine loss, not to Carkin himself, for there is neither profit nor any particular honor in the office he seeks, hut to Jackson county, if lie should be defeated. Tn this wild political riot now in progress, The Mail Tribune urges all citizens to keep their hats on straight, as far as that is possible. What we want at Salem is a harmonious and efficient delegation, free from fanaticism on cither side, competent to serve the best interests of their state and their district. Carkin with his former experience and familiarity with the legislative ropes, is admirably fitted to lead such a delegation. He should he elected. It will be Jackson countv’s loss if he is not. LOCAL MAN PRAISED BY THE OREGON VOTER Jo h n H. C arkin of M edford was a m em ber of th e 1913 leg isla tu re a n d -is a candidate for th e 1923 leg isla tu re in Jackson county. He m ade a fine rec ord in 1913, and in addition exercised a g rea t deal of in flu ence on legislation. He was one of the live w ires of the session, on th e floor and in com m ittee. He showed a grasp of th e problem s of sta te gov e rn m en t and of legislation gen erally far beyond th a t display ed by m ost m em bers. From the sta n d p o in t of th e whole sta te it is to be hoped he will be elected.— Oregon V oter. It tells interestingly why “ that tired dragged-out feeling,” headaches and biliousness are but forerunners of more serious troubles, if we only knew it, as well as keeping us but half fit for the strenuous life necessary7 for the success that should be ours. It also tells how, by the scientific use of simple pure warm water this condition can be per manently corrected and we can be one hundred per cent, every morning in the year. Medicine has no part in the result, over a million enlightened Americans have read this book in the past few years, and are now delighted with the health they enjoy through the simple home practice which it recommends.
