Whence A lfalfa Came.
Alfalfa is really a Spanish name
for Ihe Medicago Sativa, to give it its
full botanical name. It is also known
as Spanish trefoil. It may b e termed

nent as it was brought over to this

took very kindly to its new home and
now is known and valued as fodder in
many parts of Canada and the United
