Pierce, Candidate for Governor Will Deliver the Dedicatory Address Mr. Pierce Will Also Discuss the Issues of the Ashland Local Campaign On Saturday evening, October 28, at 8 o’clock, Hon. W alter M. Pierce, candidate for Governor, will deliver the dedicatory address at the formal opening of Ashland’s New Community House and Rest Rooms. The address will be given under the auspices of the Women’s Civic Club and the Charley-Loomis-for-Mayor Club of Ashland. This new addition to Ashland’s public institutions is one in which our citizens take great pride. It does much credit to Ashland. In no other city of like size in Oregon is there such a coriiplete and such a beautiful building devoted to similar purposes. This Community House is under the control of the Women’s Civic Club. Its first purpose is to supply a place where visitors to Ashland can leave their children in competent hands, there being a complete nursery for the children and rest rooms for tired mothers. It will be open at all times for proper uses, where relig ious, political and various public matters can be discussed in open forum. It has no creed except a devotion to the causes of Public Welfare and Civic Pride. Mr. Pierce’s Speech Walter M. Pierce is a fluent public speaker, who talks openly and plainly to the people. What he will have to say to the citizens of Ashland about the local campaign will be highly interesting. No one should miss this chance to hear Mr. Pierce talk, because when he talks, he says something. The outcome of the present campaign will have much to do with Ashland’s future. If a constructive Mayor and Council are elected, Ashland will take its place among Oregon’s progressive cities. If the reactionaries are continued in power, Ashland will do just what it has been doing for years and what it is doing now—NOTHING. Come out and hear this man Pierce! His message will be addressed to every man, woman and child in Ashland. should be greeted by an audience that will fill our new and beautiful Community House and Rest Rooms to their capacity. * V J* . i t (Paid Advertisement) He
