One had to have short, curly
h a ir—because everybody had to
have short, curly hair. And the
fu n n y p a rt was, no one ever had
sh o rt h a ir and curly h a ir together
a t the same tim e and the rig h t

fi iffy and round when one had no
p ace to go, and when one had
rome place to go, with a beau,
one’s h air looked like Sam Hill.
F resh curls, the weekly shampoo,
and the Special Date never seemed
to synchronize.
Life was becoming too compli­
cated. Som ething had to be done

couldn’t get along w ith bobbed
1 h r, and they wouldn’t give it up.

very simple.
Nobody’s going to curl the hair.
They’re going to leave it stra ig h t.
They a re going to depend on the

beauty. Of course, all the h a ir­
dressers will be furious, b u t no
doubt they will bear up under the
blow.
