REDDING, Calif., Sept. 14.— A
fire alarm at 2 o'clock in the morn
ing was due to a fight in California
street, not to a fire.
Two men were having a lively
encounter in a California street re
sort, when a bystander telephoned
to central to ring up the police and
send them to the scene.
The operator mistook the call for
a fire alarm and called out the fire
men. The fire department and big
big fire engine responded promptly.
The firemen saw the finish of the
fight.
