of black crepe de chine, falling

the bottom, w here it falls into an
irre g u la r hem line, slightly raised
from the ground on the left side

ver and gold lace, g litte rin g span­
gles and luscious velvet, the crepe
dt- chine dinner gown stands out
because of its chic sim plicity.
I t is usually of one solid color,
self-trim m ed and made to follow
th e s tra ig h t and n arrow way,

One of these gowns is shown in
the sketch above to the left. I t is
slightly and tig h tly draped about
the w aist and has no trim m ing,
unless one considers as such the
self cord bindings along all edges.
