One o f the new oparasols is
shown in the lower left hand
sketch. It is made o f three layers
of organdy. Two of white, and
an under one of peach, which tints
the complexion with a delicate
giow. It is trimmed in organdy
daisies.
In the photo, Agnes Ayres, the
Paramount star, wears this hat
and parasol in “ Borderland,” her
latest starring picture for Para

Hat and parasol are o f water

Returns to Fort Jones—
Mrs. H arry W ayne, of F o rt Jones,
Calif., a fte r a very pleasant w eek’s
visit w ith Mrs. P eter M urray, of
Talent, re tu rn e d hom e th is m orn-
and useful in rain or shine. The
parasol has an adjustable handle
which enables it to be tilted at
various angles, which is ofen de
sirable.
The beach parasol is gay in col
oring, with a sturdy handle which
one can thrust in the sand, setting
up a tent so to speak. The beach
parasol is always built for two.
The small arrangement on the
right is for riding. It can be
turned any way, and serves a* a
shield against a breeze as wall as
against the sun. It is small enough
to be put up at races or tennis
matches without hopelessly ob
structing the view of passing
events from the vision of those
immediately behind.

* Fashionable One went out
into the countryside to seek a coat
of tan. Wind and sun she faced
intrepidly and unshielded, and re
turned not into the city until she
had obtained that coating upon
which she had set her heart.
But now she bums not, neither
does she tan. She no longer basks
in the sun. She has found that a
much burned skin soon turns
leathery. And again, the lines of
a bathing suit do not follow the
lines of the evening gown; and
where the swimming suit began
and where it ended are stamped
for all time on the fair skin.
Stamped far all winter, anyway.
So the parasol grows more and
more important every summer,
