How to make it

C ream shortening. A d d sugar and grated ctanste rin d. A dd
beaten egg yolks. Sift together flour, salt and Roval Baking
Powder and add alternately w ith the inilkt lastly fold in one
beaten egg wlute. Divide batter into two parts. I o one parr add
the chocolate. Put by tahleapoonfuls, alternating dark and light
Latter, into three greased laser cake pans. Bake in moderate
oven 20 minutes.
FILLING AND ICING
3 tablespoons m elted b u tte r
3 cups confectioner’ s sugar

Put butter, sugar, orange iuice and rird into bowl. C u t pulp
from orange, removing ski., and seeds, and add. Beat all together
until smooth. FolJ it, beaten egg white. Spread this u fug on
layer used for top o f cake. W h ite i it.g is solt, sprinkle w ith
unsweetened chocolate shaved in f.i e j ieces w ith sharp knite
(use S squatel. T o crma:nif.g t- ing add 2 ': squares unsweetened
