It Is Mr. Looseley's Intention to tear down the old building 'and erect a fine modern five-room bun xalow for hi personal use. Mr Powell and G. M. Grainger have the contract to build the bungalow, and will commence at once to remove the old building. Irrigated Orchards Are Only Producers GRANTS PASS. Do Anju pears will probably bring from $2.60 to $3 per box. Among other shippers who are sending fruit from the valley Is Douglas Wood, who shipped 3600 boxes ot canning Bartletts to Sa lem, netting the growers $60 per ton. During the Bartlett season he has shipped about 10,000 boxes of pears, most ot the consignment go ing east. Mr. Wood Is now shipping out Win ter Banana apples. He will send thsee cars of this delicious fruit to Dennis, Kimball tt Polk, at New York, and later will ship to this firm about 20,000 boxes ot winter apples. Newtown pippins will sell for about $2 a box this year. Owing to the prolonged drouth, Mr. Wood says apples and pears did not mature this year except where irrigated. Sept. 5, The American Legion held a short busi ness meeting Tuesday night at the Chamber of Commerce and adopted a constitution and by-luws. Another meeting will be held next Tuesday night. Without a record vote, the senate, after a 12 hour session, passed the bill to make possible the leasing of pub lic lands having deposits of oil, coal, gas, phosphate and sodium.
