Momentous Meeting
The Oral session of the Continental
congress was held In Carpenter's hall,
Philadelphia. September S, 1774, with
44 members present ; all the colonies
were represented except Georgia and
North Carolina. Peyton Randolph of
Virginia was prosid nt, and Charles
Thomson was secretary.

of Forest Hill cemetery, beside his
