railroad strike were dimmed by the
addition of approximately 100,000
men to the forces of the strikers. Ne
gotiations for a settlement were tem
porarily at a standstill, with no posi
tive indication as to the next move
or its possible result. By many it is
believed that the nation this week will
meet the major industrial crisis of its
history.
Mr. Furman, a new comer, has
purchased forty acres of the Sandy
Campbell estate, two miles south. of
town, and is now finishing a neat

Governor Olcott Asks Full Recount.
