Umpire included. Who's the umpire? Hey Ump., have a cough drop. Mr. Downing is quite ill at his home in this city. J. C. Ballenger is the owner of a new Studebaker six. Work is progressing on the new O. W. R. & N. spur at Peters. t- Robert Smith and family mo tored to Arlington Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Balletiger were week-end visitors at Wasco, return ing Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Mow of the East End are enjoying a visit from Mr. Mow's father of Portland. Mrs. A. T. Harem is quite ill this week. Master A. T. is visiting his aunt, Mrs. Delia Larson. J. C. Ballenger and family re turned Sunday froma few days vis it at Wasco. They drove back in their new Studebaker. Of course they returned in time for the game to see the home team again defeated. Mrs. Meseuger Is a Portland vis itor this week. Sam Koardnian may figure in future games as a pinch hitter. Some t li in U we need a pinch um pire too. Miss Cowgill was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. I. C. Ballenger Mon day evening, leaving Tuesday af ternoon for Pendleton. Mrs. Jack Gorham, Mrs. Garret, Mrs. Richardson were Hermiston visitors Friday, going with Mr. and Sfra. Geo. Mefford. The next meeting of the Busy Gleaners will be held on May 10th at the home of Mrs. Wicklanders. Allladies are invited to attend. Ed Miles has purchased the John Brungood farm from his brother Will Miles, and is doing some very creditable work, irrigating same. Harry Murchie is progressing nicely with his concrete building on Main street. He expects to erect anoiher store building in the near future. The teachers at the "Do-Drop-Inn" entertained Miss Myrtle Mc Neil, Mrs. C. P. Harter and Odessa Leonard at dinner last Friday evening. Mrs. Ai May of Echo visited In Boardmau Sunday. She will be remembered as Miss Miller and is j always gladly welcomed by her j many friends here. F. C. Mallov of Stanfield was in Boardman Monday looking over the situation with a view 10 establish ing a general repair and black smith shop much needed addi tion to our town. Mr. and Mrs. Downing have mov ed into the house owned by Leo Root, which was formerly occupied by A. B Strait. Mrs. Downing is Mrs Geo.
