far a the black buoy, where sli was
picked tip by the R.-ljef and towed up to
tho city. The life-saving crew telegraphed
up that 'he was in (larger of font' on the
spit, and no little excitement was rr '-a ted
when the rows war circulated. Both, the
tug boats, which had ix-en engaged dur
ing the morning in getting the vessels

anchors during the storm, put off post
haste, at 11 o'clock for the lower river.
