bad whiskey good. It must be good
when made and must be stored In wood
and not In metal Cyrus Noble Old
Bourbon Whiskey Is stored In onk wood
laurels. This develops Its flavors anc
tonic properties. These flavors make It
delicious In cocktails. It is the only
American Whiskey of International rep.

A number of businessmen yesterday
expressed the opinion that Peterson's
Point would be the best location for the
proposed Young's bay wagon bridge. A
good road leads from the city to Peter
son's point and the roads from the coun
try to the opposite shore have been con.
etructed. If the bridge Is built at this
point very little road work will have
to be done, and It Is stated thnt
expense to the community will be v.
for a bridge at this point than one erect
ed at any other place.

By unanimous vote of the general man
agement committee of the regatta yester
day. It was decided to turn over to the
Astoria Progressive Association the sur
plus funds from the regatta. PS. It
was thought that this was the best viuy
to dispose of the money, especially as
most of the members of the regatta c-m .
mittee are also members of the new us.
sociatlon. and among Its organisers. The
contributors to the regatta fund are sat
isfied. All the money collected by the
regatta committee was expended by
voucher, and the book and documents
turned over with the money to the Pro
gressive Association, and any contrlhu
tor to the fund can inspect the account.
The Astoria Savings Bank yesterday
filed In Recorder Williams' office a decla
ration of the trust Imposed In It by
committee of direction in securing the
Astoria railroad subsidy for the benefit of
Bonner and Hammond. It Is Inferred
that the filing of this document Is simply
notice to the public that taxe upon the
donated lands cannot he assessed to the
railroad company until It acquires title
to them by the completion of the nllrori.1
to a connection with the transcontinental
railroad, nor is It proabble that the taxes
can be assessed against the original own
ers or the trustees. This Involves a que.
tlon of about one-sixth of the taxes of
the county, so It Is estimated by those
wbo have figured upon the question.
