Coos bay bar, Oregon, page 36; North
Spit letty buoy No. 1. This buoy,
which him been heretofre reported
adrift, and which was formerly a
hlivck first -clams can, marking the
outer submerged end of the North spit
Jetty, was replaced March 13. 1SD7. by
a black second-clans can buoy moored
about one-fourth mile west northwest
three: fourths west from the position
of tbo former buoy. The buoy is now I

made to mark the recently dredged
channel across Cottonwood Island
shoul:
ItolnhT buoy No. 1. A black Drst
class iar buoy was established March
26, 1S97, In twenty-four foot of water,
to mark the, edge of the spit off the
lower end of Cottonwood Island, and
should be given a berth of one hun
dred feet. The bearings are as fol
lows: Rainier wharf west southwest
one-half west; Dobeibower Lahcfdhg
post light, southern one-fourth east.
Cottonwood Island shoal buoy No. S.
A black first-class spar buoy waa es
tablished March 2. 1S97, In twenty-two
feet of water, and should be given a
berth of 60 feet. The bearings are as
follows: East end of Cottonwood Island
east one-fourth south; Coffin rock light
south southeast three-fourths eattt;
Dobeibower Landing post light west
three-fourths north.
Cottonwood Island shoal buoy No. 5.
On March 21. 1S97, the number of this
buoy was changed from 1 to 6. This-j
buoy should be given a berth of 50 feet.
