Mr Thomas Parker, who made a
trip Into lh5 country yesterday, says
that the roads were very muddy, and
in such bad condition as to render them
almost Impassable. He brought a cow
and calf to the city, and oould scarci-ly
get them along. In one place his hors
slipped into a bole and MI down, pin
ning Parker's lg underneath. For
tunately he extricated himself and suf
fered only slight bruises. Rancher
Sharp also came to the city, bringing
with him a handstome pure blood Al
dwmey. Bridge-tender Fisher, at the
Walluski bridge, who has been sick
for some time. Is now Improving and is
busily engaged planting his gardpn.
Ranchers report that they have large
quantities of wood piled up, and that
their dairy Interests are now In first-
class condition. Milk Is plentiful, feed
fairly good, and soon gilt-edge butter
will be produced for the market. Ev
ery where the people are red hot on
the road question. Nearly all of the
farmer? In the district are grubbing
and cleaning off their fields, and pre
paring for the spring plowing, which
will soon commence. The dike on Mor
gan's place broke during one of the
recent storms, MiXKlIng his entire ranch.
